It was a beautiful evening for the final game of the season.  Our players were very keen to take on Tavistock.   Cy Bergsma started the game in net and many quality saves while allowing no goals during the first half.

Our forwards wasted no time attacking the Tavistock net.   Many scoring chances occurred with numerous shots just missing the net.  Colby Ryan scored our first goal at the 8th minute.  Six minutes later Charlie Bell scored our second goal.   Our forwards kept peppering the Tavistock goalie with a barrage of shots.  Ben Duncan scored our next 2 goals.   With 4 minutes left in the first half Jack Bree scored our fifth goal.  We were leading 5 - 0 at halftime.
Netminding duties were shared between Ben and Damiyen Boyko during the second half.  Ben and Damiyen were very bored in net since they faced no shots during the second half.  The reason for Tavistock getting no shots on our goal during the second half was the phenomenal defense played by Wendy Maas and Carson Paulen.  Wendy and Carson shut down the Tavistock forwards and kept the ball out of our side of the pitch.  Our forwards kept attacking and were relentless.  Seven minutes into the second half Cy scored our 6th goal.  Eight minutes later Sean Tenhove scored our 7th goal.   With 8 minutes left in the game Colby scored our 8th goal.   The final score was 8 - 0 for team Dr Kurt Eickmeier Family Dentistry.
Including the games just played in the tournament on Saturday our team ended the season with an 18 game winning streak.  All players demonstrated great improvement in their soccer skills over the course of the season and all players should be very proud of themselves for their achievements this season.
Tuesday July 24 will be the parent vs players game to wrap up the season.
